Thank you for finding my website and for your curiosity for what TherapEase can do for you.
Since therapy involves being vulnerable with (usually) an entire stranger, I would like to take some time to introduce myself. I am Hayley, owner of a private therapy practice founded on the principle of bringing ease of access to mental health therapy and counselling.
I am a Registered Social Worker in the province of Alberta, and I have a Master Degree in Social Work. In the province of Alberta, Social Workers are regulated professionals under the Health Professions Act which means we must be registered with a governing body to practice in Alberta. We must adhere to Standards of Practice and Ethical Guidelines set out by our governing body to ensure the highest quality of treatment for clients.
I have had an innate interest in mental health for over a decade, which has led me to work in the areas of education, international development, child and adolescent mental health, disability, domestic violence, homelessness, and individual therapy. I currently work as a program manager for mental health in downtown Calgary, in addition to offering e-counselling through TherapEase.
My approach is: intentional, calm, compassionate, direct, non-judgmental and kind. I am eager to support change and healing in each person. I have a passion for connecting with others, asking them questions they have never been asked before, and helping others discover their full potential.
I consider it a privilege to work as a social worker and counsellor and see myself as a lifelong learner in the process. I have no hidden agenda, and I don't submit to the idea of "fixing" you: you are not broken. I do, however, want to create a space for you to look inward and make changes to better yourself so that you can reach your full potential. Likewise, I am continually looking for ways to better myself and improve my work as a therapist.
I look forward to walking with you, down whichever path you choose.
Best,
Hayley
