My approach is: intentional, calm, compassionate and non-judgmental. I am eager to support change and healing in each person. I have a passion for connecting with others, asking them questions they have never been asked before, and helping others discover their full potential.
Get to know me
I am a Registered Clinical Social Worker and Clinical Traumatologist/Certified Clinical Trauma Professional in the province of Alberta. I work with adult individuals experiencing a range of issues, which often include: trauma-related symptoms, sleep disturbance, work-related stressors, anxiety and depression. I utilize a client-centered approach in counselling by getting to know each client, uncovering the root of the real problem, and exploring how you can use your unique strengths and abilities to solve your own problems. As founder of TherapEase Counselling, I am dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and professional space for healing so you can move forward to where you want to be in your life.
My approach
My role as a counsellor is to help you discover solutions to your own problems, not solve them for you; acting as a guide in your decision-making process, not making decisions for you; being curious about you and your issue, not judging or blaming you for where you find yourself today; and creating a safe, confidential space for you to discuss your difficulties, not avoid talking about your difficulties; building self-reliance and self-sufficiency, not giving advice on what you ought to do. I consider it a privilege to work as a clinical social worker and counsellor and see myself as a lifelong learner in the process. I have no hidden agenda, and I don’t submit to the idea of “fixing” you — you are not broken. I do, however, want to create a space for you to look inward and make changes to better yourself so that you can reach your full potential. Likewise, I am continually looking for ways to better myself and improve my work as a counsellor. I am grateful to be able to do work that I genuinely love, and that allows me to learn each and every single day. I don’t take this for granted – not even a little bit. I look forward to walking with you, down whichever path you choose.
